Prayer's and Positive Thoughts for Shelli Gardner

Shelli UpdateAugust 30, 2013
Yesterday Shelli was involved in a riding accident in southern Utah; the horse she was riding stumbled. Shelli was taken to the Kanab hospital where X-rays were taken and she was diagnosed with a fractured pelvis, broken wrist, and broken collarbone. She is being flown to Intermountain Medical Center and will likely be there for a few days.

Obviously, she is in a great deal of pain but wants you all to know she is fine and is grateful it wasn't worse. Thank you for your concern and well wishes!

Sending my sincere thoughts and prayers to her, her family, her Stampin' Up family and all that are taking care of her.  May they heal her quickly so that she can get back to her creative life!

Our Starbucks & Stampin' Birthday

Good Saturday Morning!
Lorraine and I are getting together with our sisters on the side today.  We share the same birthday month and have reasons to celebrate (we are awesome... We both have amazing families... We have amazing friends... We have the best customers... And we aspire to be creative everyday)!

Check out Caleb, Lorraine's son... He was giving me some money the other day so that I could buy more stamps... So generous that boy!!

Pictured above is part of our favors....I will share the link from which I CASE'd this card soon!

Lorraine came up with the cutest theme: Starbucks! Everytime Sarah, Marie, Lorraine and I get together to get our crafty on... Starbucks is part of our ritual! Sarah has educated us on the tips ans tricks to get the most out of our caffeine and for our money! We learned all about Trenta sizing from her... How not adding water to our tea tastes better and  that we can go back later in the day for more Caffine at a discounted price.  Why is this important to share? Well, the savings in our pockets equals more money for stamps and the more Caffine equals more stamina in the creativity department!

We are doing a completed card swap today... We were supposed to do one card... I chose to do three 3x3 cards.....and put them into an altered wood mount case (pictured below).

I was inspired by our Upline Beverlee... She gave us one at convention (a larger and fancier version because Beverlee is all about the details, and she filled her box with three full cards for us to use for future classes).  See my earlier post ... You too can make this box and fill it with cards.

Coming Soon: the cards we swapped, birthday cards we received and.... The cute favors I filled with See's Candy (a new addition to our Sidelline Sister's gathering) But, I always have a place for it in my mouth, on my thighs and in my heart!

Have a great day!
Cary

Updated Notes:

Here is the card I received from Lorraine for my birthday. So beautiful and she CASE'd this idea from a box that she found on Stampin Connection.

Here are our swaps... Lorraine and I were super excited to trade ideas!

Here is Marie's Swap.... inspired me to buy the World Map Stamp.

I love Sarah's Swap too... she and Lorraine have sold me on buying this set too!

Here is the birthday card Sarah made.... this was so cute with the mini clothes pin and the hexagon punch.

First Day of School

Today my younger two went back to school. Gabriella starts 9th grade and her first day of High School! Matthew begins 5th grade... Look out teacher his three best buddies are in his class! Daddy went back to his real job today (he had been traveling for work, attending schools, training for Urban Shield and vacationing) after almost a month away from his job.
Mackenzie is celebrating her last long hair day before the big CHOP! Which leaves Kylie and I to craft and play!

I sent thank you cards out today for my wonderful vacation home... Thank you to all of the family that blessed us! Plus I had to thank those special people in my life that gift me with true friendship... Far or near... They are always there for me on my Lil milestones of life. Lest I forget the teachers.. I big thank you goes out to all the wonderful adults that mold and shape out children!

Stampin' Therapy

It can be said that girl time is a much needed way to rejuvenate and validate our hearts n souls! Stampin' can accomplish that with the completion of a card... The "I made that" feeling is one to be shared with your fellow stampers and friends. Yesterday, Mia was in town and spent a few hours of girl time with me. We made many creations with a few creative discoveries.

Here is a card Mia made with a Stamp set she has been waiting to use. Not pictured is the inside... She has beautiful grapes in there!

Here is a CASE of a card I had CASE'd earlier this summer. I like Mia's version!

Here is a CASE that Mia and I tried today .... The red glitter was not that easy the first few times but once we practiced it all went smoothly,

Yet another CASE... Mia had pinned this card to CASE and I also had pinned it... So fun, we really think alike and have the same tastes.

Thank you Mia for your time and creativity!

I'm So Grateful

I do not always tell my husband thank you... Or I love you enough.  He provides a warm, safe, and loving home for our family... With little complaint.  Lately, he has been busy working and still has found time to work on our garden.  I am thankful he has the patience for the sprinkler system because it's a difficult task. We brought home asparagus plants from our trip home to Washington.  He took such care transplanting them into our garden... And I am ever so grateful for his green thumbs.

In two weeks we celebrate 14 years of marriage... It feels like yesterday that he charmed my heart, met my sweet lil Mackenzie and was head over heals in love and support of us both.  So I plan on thanking him daily, and leaving him notes of endearment. He has helped me become the woman and mother I am... And is my best friend and number one fan. I don't know why he loves me so, but he does and like him I was a smitten kitten at first glance and hope the next fourteen years are as wonderful as these!

Scrapbook Class Sneak Peek

I am heading to Almond Blossom Estates tonight to lead a scrapbooking class.  The ladies asked me to show then how to integrate stamps with scrapbooking... And then threw in the challenge that one woman only wants to make cards!! Since these ladies are on a budget I kept the supplies minimal and utilized the left over Sweater Weather DSP from my stamp camp project for them to complete a fall themed layout and here are four pages and two of the cards.

After Class Notes:
I do not know why I forgot to take photos of their scrapbook pages... maybe it was because we were having too much fun!

Here was Pris's card... she was not quite finished as I started taking photos... its her first time EVER!  Good job!

Here is Diane my hostess:

Here is Vickie... check out the beautiful lipstick.. note I wore none tonight!

Not the best picture of Sandy... my hands were shaking...
Her card was beautiful!

I love the Burlap Ribbon too!
It is a ribbon for all seasons!
Stay tuned for mare ways to make your Burlap Ribbon into many different embellishment's!

Have A Holly Jolly Christmas

Here is the first CASE of the swaps I received at Convention 2013!
It is a swap I received while waiting for opening ceremonies.
The designer is Judy Robello.
She actually inspired me to mess around with the framelits.

The recipe for this beautiful card is:

Cool Halloween Card

Do you love Halloween as much as I do?
I was super excited to see

Toil & Trouble Clear-Mount Stamp Set 131727
Price: $16.95

This is a sample I made for Stamp Camp...
while this card and technique was not chosen this time...
I have made many variations and will share them with you!

The technique I used for this card is similar to the Painter's Tape... This Technique uses the Clear Mount Block H to add color to the card.  So easy, and earth friendly too!

LOVE my Circle Framelits

This card was CASE'd from HERE!
I found it a while back while looking through Pinterest.
I love my Circle Framelits. I find them easy to layer and carry with me.
While I love my punches...
they are harder to lug around on my
vacation!
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Best of Love Stamp Set (132987).

Remember if you buy 6 Best of Sets you get to pick any set $14.95 or less for FREE!!!

What do you love?

Simple Scrappy Card

I have many baskets full of scraps, and occasionally I take time to dean out my collection.
Today I am CASEing a card I pinned from HERE a while back.
It's cute and simple and fun.
Small details made by the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Label Punch, and the Itty Bitty Punches add detail and Lord knows it must have ribbon N buttons too! (Right, Lorraine?)
All in good fun and for a wonderful cause!
What cause may that be you ask?
We donate the proceeds' from my cards to support our many wonderful charities!

While I may not have depleted my scrap baskets...
I am six cards into my donation pile and well...
I feel another CASE coming on!
