Altered Tic Tac Favor

So I love when I am stalking other blogs and I see how creative my fellow demonstrators are.
There are many ways to use Stampin' Up! Product while altering a project.
I fell in love with an altered Tic Tac Container on Pinterest.
Orange and Green Tic Tacs make great Halloween Favors.

I wanted the container to match the banner I made for Kareena:

I watched many videos bit none of the measurements worked out for me so I had to make up my own.

Supplies used to make this Tic Tac Favor were:
Flower Pot DSP, Hello Honey Cardstock, Tangerine Tango Cardstock, Hello Honey Ribbon, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder, Rhinestones and Dimensional's.

I cut the Flowerpot DSP into a 3"x4 1/4" piece.  I then scored it at 2" and 2 1/2". I then cut a 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" piece of Hello Honey Cardstock.  Ran it and the Tiny Triangles Embossing folder through my BIG SHOT, then cut a 1" circle out of one end. I trimmed a 13" long piece of Hello Honey Ribbon, added SNAIL from the 6"-9" spot on the ribbon, centered on my Grid... you may like to do it center period.  I attached it about 3/3" down on the DSP.  I used SNAIL to adhere the embossed Hello Honey piece of cardstock to the front, then took the 1" circle punch and punched a matching hole so that you could see the orange Tic Tac's through it.  Before it was tied together I added the layered punches and a huge amount of SNAIL to the back of the Tic Tac container and adhered it to the back of the inner DSP layer.  Tie a bow and Ta Da!  It's done!

Hope you enjoyed seeing this great favor!

Off to do a favor for a friend,
Cary

You Are a FABULOUS Work of Art CASE

Hope you are not tired of hearing how I love the Work Of Art stamp set.
It really helped me out while teaching my KIDS CAMP CAMPER's how to 'stamp off'.
I wanted frilly girlie cards and I had a few rolls of the retired Strawberry Slush Ribbon.
This card was inspired by a CASE and enhanced with the ribbon and the butterfly punches.
Supplies used to make this CASE:
Strawberry Slush Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Work of Art Stamp Set, Stazon, Strawberry Slush Stampin' Pad, Retired Strawberry Slush Stretchy Ribbon, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Itty Bitty Butterfly Punch, Rhinestones and Dimensional's.

Stamping Off is defined as:When a person stamps out of a room... but crafters use that term for inking up their stamp, stamping off the first layer of color onto an alternate piece of paper
(or Grid Paper) and then stamping the image onto the actual project.  Thus, creating a lighter color... each time you stamp the color goes lighter.

I like to use this technique when creating an ombré look, when I want to layer a sentiment, or when I want to use a background stamp... It's subtle, creates a lighter tone, and fun to do.

Try this at home, call me to schedule a date, it's fun and easy to do.

TGIF!

Happy Homemaker Monday 8/25/2014

As I look outside my window:
I saw nothing but darkness... I hear my wind chimes and slowly the sun is coming up... beautiful sunrise today!

Right now I am:
Hunting down ants... they found their way in via the garage and the last hour has been spent chasing them down! I found their nest and am planning an attack.

Thinking and pondering:
Today is the First Day of School, will my kids like their teachers, will they make friends, will they learn and share with me? It is sad not having them at home anymore, I will miss the lazy days of summer. So will they!

On my bedside table:
A plant, a basket full of things I need to either donate or keep and my Bible... I need to go randomly open it and find some faith today!

On my tv tonight:
The news... after the earthquake yesterday I have been watching and praying for those affected and watching to see what is going on in the Middle East. I wait til the kids go to bed, because I am not ready to talk about what is going on with them.

Listening to:
The hum of the computer and the rustling of three dogs as they check the yard for visitors.

On the menu for this week:
Monday -  Pork Roast.
Tuesday - Chili
Wednesday - I am making a try at Panini's again.. They were good.
Thursday - Mystery night... going to try a random Pinterest recipe.
Friday -  Chinese Food, and a Carpet Picnic.
Saturday - BBQ something
Sunday - Breakfast for dinner... waffles and ham steaks.

On my to do list:
reorganize the pantry, clean out my craft closet and vacuum the garage

Happening this week:
Monday - First Day of School
Tuesday -  Kylie Here, Chairman Meeting and Hall closets.
Wednesday - Kylie is here, kids out half day and family dinner night.
Thursday -  Ridding lessons and volunteering today
Friday -  I am going to Lorraine's house to make cards.
Saturday- Yard work
Sunday -  Playdate at Jeanne's today!

What I am creating:
Thank you cards and a photo frame.

My simple pleasure:
Morning walks and afternoon naps!

Homemaking tips:
Have plenty of back up food supplies. water, batteries and pet food.  You never know when a disaster can happen.

Looking around the house:
I really tore this place up today after finding that trail of ants... think some of mother natures friends are going down!  Two things I dislike ants and flies.  What is their purpose? Thankful that that is all I have to worry about when there are others that have to worry about more!

From the camera:

We had a special visitor today!  Anita stopped in and had lunch... she enjoyed playing with Hobbes!

Anita is an animal whisperer... I swear she gets all the furry friends to follow her lead, kind of like snow white!

Prayer List:
Prayers for family, friends and for the Middle East! Prayers for my friends that are sick, spouses are ill or for their family members.  Prayers for the people that are misplaced from the earthquake.  May the mommies I love and adore in my life have peaceful pregnancies and for those trying may they be blessed soon.

Bible verse, Devotional:
11 I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.

 Psalm 119:11

Happy 10th Birthday Kareena!

Today is Kareena's 10th birthday.
She spent this past Friday with me celebrating.
Turning double digits with a delightful Stampin' Up! Themed party!
We played with My Paper Pumpkin,
we made three cards
and we snacked and laughed!
I tell ya... Kids are creative.
They are not worried about perfection,
they own their own style and they have fun!
Just like me!
Kareena closes out my birthday week...
With a smile! Happy Birthday to you!!

Here are the girls ... Eunice, Sarah, Karenna, Cassidy, and Maison!

These girls were so funny!

Silly poses and they got all my jokes.. Have to admit they were full of jokes too!

I am amazed how inspired and creative they were when given July's My Paper Pumpkin box... They all made cards that reflected their individual personalities. I did highly encourage extra bling... And they complied!
Here is Karena... The NEW 10 year old!

Just for YOU CASE

Again, I am bragging about the Work of Art Stamp Set...
It inspired this CASE:
We made this CASE at KIDS CAMP. Trying to keep a color scheme.. We again used Strawberry Slush and the retired coordinating ribbon. The techniques we learned making this CASE were, distressing with scissors, and how to layer punched paper. The CAMPERS were taught how sharp scissors are, how to hold them, and not to touch the tips because they are sharp.(Don't you know I reached into my apron pocket and pricked my finger as I was taking out all the Paper Snips for them to use.)  we distressed the edges of the top Cardstock layer, and then used the scissors to cut the punched Basic Grey Label Bracket piece in half.

Sneak Peek time: see the staples? I used the New Handheld Stapler, to anchor the ribbon on the Cardstock.

Supplies used to make this CASE were:
Strawberry Slush Cardstock, Basic Grey Cardstock Whisper White Cardstock, Work of Art Stamp Set, Strawberry Slush Stampin' Pad, Basic Grey Stampin' Pad, Label Bracket Punch, Handheld Stapler, Rhinestones, Paper Snips, Retired Strawberry Slush Ribbon, and Dimensional's.

This like all the KIDS CAMP projects we made, it was thrilling to see the CAMPERS learn a skill safely, and show me how to do a few things too!

Off to play with my Paper Snips, please do not runt with them, touch the tips or use them on any unauthorized material!

Washi Tape CASE

Another CASE from KIDS CAMP this past week:
Why this CASE?
Well it really allowed the CAMPERS to use the Retired Gingham Garden Washi Tape I gave them in their gift bags.   The CAMPERS alternated the patterns and lengths on their cards to create individual cards that reflects their personality.

The gift bags included their first SNAIL adhesive, a few flyers for special Stampin' Up! Offers, a CAMP schedule, a retired Simply Sent Card Kit, and the retired Gingham Garden Washi Tape.  You can find retired items on the clearance rack.

The technique we learned with this was to set their own style...
And these CAMPERS can go home and use their Washi Tape to make their items their own.
I think this CAMP was a huge success and I look forward to the next one.

Have a great day!
