Open House Preperations

I am spending this Saturday preparing for my Open House. I am trying to prep all my cards so that my customers can get done quickly. It seems I get easily distracted with new ideas and play more than I prep.

Here are a few cards I made instead of setting up the supplies:

First is a Birthday Card for Jeanne! Her special day is not until next month but Barbara wanted to surprise her with a gift certificate for the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder! She threw a Cloud Folder too!

Catching Up

This past week was a busy week for me and my women's club. First there was the crab feed and that was so fun. Then, Bocce Ball and Holiday Fantasy planning. Very cool! One thing that never grows smaller is my scrap pile. Pieces of card stock and DSP that pile up because I will use them someday. So... I dug in yesterday and made some room for more.... Here are a few of the cards I made for my women's club fundraiser....

Sending Sympathy and Prayers

Our dear friends had to put their dog down today. He was a dear companion for many years. I pulled from my retired DSP and scrap pile to send off a quick card before the mailman came.

My Stampin' Up order is here!!

The UPS man delivered my new Spring Catalog products today!! Kylie and I will be busy unpacking and planning card projects!

My Open House is scheduled for Sunday, January 20th... So that gives me plenty of time to play with all those stamps!!

Sending prayers...

My friend Marie has been sick for over a week and sadly she lost a dear friend during her illness. I've been saving up my scraps trying not to waste them. Sending you love and prayers!

I tried using up my left over Rose Red card stock scraps and I punched mini butterflies... Embossed them onto very vanilla and then used my favorite ribbon to add a little love.
The word friend came from the Family Reunion stamp set.

Ok, so I always have very vanilla card stock leftover... So I used the piece that I had punched the butterfly accent from the above card to make this card a little different. Simple but after I play around I can improve this card.

Oh, Hello is a new stamp set in the Spring 2013 catalog... and this past weekend Marie and I went to my upline Bev's house and made samples from the new products.  While we made many samples this set was one that inspired an additional order.  The stamp set comes in a bundle... with the new ovals framwlets, and then let us not forget the new Primrose Petals Core'dinations Card Stock.... OH, HELLO!!!  Love this card.... you can add many more dimensions to this card but I am liking the simple version... look for another project coming your way soon! Happy New Year

2013 is going to be a great year! Stampin' Up always has new ideas and tools to share. The holiday is a Farruggia Family favorite! We closed out the 2012 year with Chinese food, board games, and movies with friends. Midnight banged in with the lids of my pots and pans. Then Happy Birthday bellowed so all our neighbors could hear. It always starts off with the celebration of my dear husbands birthday! Any day that starts with cake at midnight is golden in my book!

This is also my dear friend Mia's birthday too! My little sister shares this birthday as well as a dear departed grandmother. So back to my girl Mia... She is a traveling nurse and the mother to two amazing and handsome boys! Her oldest Zachary is about to celebrate his confirmation.
We collaborated on his invitations. Mia really liked the cards on page 55 of the Stampin' Up catalog. So this is what we came up with!

We did change up the colors, using crumb cake, early espresso, marina mist and very vanilla card stock. The background stamp came from Artistic Etchings on page 124. I pulled a few tools out of my baskets: my ScallopTrim Border Punch, my Adorning Accents Edgelits and the Square Lattice Folder.

The star of this beautiful card is the Crosses of Hope stamp set on page 55.

This is the original inspiration... Minus the flowers as we wanted it to look masculine!

Congratulations Mia on your birthday and and your son's upcoming confirmation! You are a blessing as a friend and you and your family deserve all the happiness in the world!
