Hubby's Handmade Halloween Creation

Last weekend was my Annual Christmas in July Open House.  My whole family helped set up the house picking holiday inspired cards, drinks and snacks.  This year the Holiday Catalog is launching at the end of August. Which meant that I was going to be able to share samples with the customers, my hubby was drawn to assisting me with making a sample from a new Halloween stamp set.
First he sketched out his idea:
Then he started going through my paper and looking for paper colors... Asking me questions about how to use the stamp, what did I suggest for clouds, how could he layer on top of a fence or grass, all the while smiling so proud with excitement.

As his idea bloomed and grew, he got more excited, yes he likes this green, oh, ovals look like pumpkins, I need a moon....

Not being a dream squasher, I stood back at watched him fussy cut out the characters for his top layer, and as I do for my customers... I was at his side providing whatever he needed to complete his task. He was inspired and I was standing aside.

When all was done, we were both proud, he wanted to try again, with different plans, and I was thrilled to have his card hanging on my wall! I am pretty lucky to have such a supportive man in my life, he bankrolls my hobby, he gives his opinion often on my designs, ans he cheers me on!

As you can see, he really added details to this cute card... Check out the tiny pearl eyes... I would have never thought of such an important detail. Love that guy!

Want to make your own creations with NEW Holiday Stamps? Then stop by my August Open House, August 31st from noon to 6pm.  I will have a special card that you can create, and all my NEW 2014 Holiday product will be available to view, try as well as the rest of my Stampin' Up! Supplies.
RSVP now... For a Holiday Inspired Gift!

Off to play!

My Convention Make n Take CASE

Is there a person out there that does not like Make n Takes? I dare say it is my favorite part about stamping and my stamping friends. Almost everybody in my stamping family offers them for me to do when I see them. Even Shelli talked about offering them to guests that attended a BBQ. Step outside and pretend that you are a my guest... Would it not be great to make and take home your very own creation?
We get spoiled at Stampin' Up! Convention, they gave us at least six Make n Takes to complete whilst swooning over our new stamp sets, samples, and absorbing the energy from the many talented people around us. I especially loved our newest stamp set:
(And the wonderful class I attended while making the Make n Take)

Kinda Eclectic

Kinda Eclectic Clear-Mount Stamp Set 135350
Price: $19.95

Here is my version of their Make n Take and then my CASE of their card.
The card on the left is the card we made in Salt Lake City, super fun and many new techniques for me. When I returned home I had Kirsten's Party with a minimum of twelve ladies... I altered the card to accommodate the number of ladies to my stamp supplies on hand.  I will not lie... It was a hit!

I chose to use this set because Kirsten was the first Walt Disney Elementary Mom to approach me when we moved here, and she continued to approach me daily, and introduced me around to the rest of the kind crew. A little kindness does go a long way... Because my journey from homeschooling to traditional schooling required me learning all kinds of things.  Kirsten never let me down.  Skills and tools of the best mother's were shared so that I did not miss a beat. Let's just say she knows what she is doing and how to make the teachers happy, while guiding our kids into well behaved students.
So whenever I see Kirsten, or her beautiful daughter Emmy I try and have them make a card... They are a walking commercial for kindness and pretty talented as all their work is amazing!

Show a little kindness today!
I believe in you... And stop by for a make n take!

Happy Homemaker Monday 7/28/14

As I look outside my window:
I am enjoying how my dogs cannot stop barking at our pool guy, he is the same man... and yet a stranger so they nark at him as they fight for his love and attention!

Right now I am:
Running a little late, the hubby came home around 4:30 am and needed to be out the door again by 6:30.  He asked me to wake him. So I stayed awake watching Heaven is for Real and then fell back to sleep after he drove away.  I wanted to get some yard work dome before the sun turned hot.  Too late now.

Thinking and pondering:
After a whirl wind of a weekend, I should just spend the day in the pool with my kids.  It is the last time I can do that.

On my bedside table:
A pile of color books, my bible, and fake flowers... they are usually on my piano but somehow they were moved here... they need to be dusted... this could be my reminder!

On my tv tonight:
To Catch a Thief... my latest Netflix movie.  I am waiting for the hubby to watch it with me.

Listening to:
The sounds of my dogs lapping their water bowls clean, and only a few birds, they all are quiet as it becomes hotter outside.

On the menu for this week:
Monday - Leftovers from Christmas in July
Tuesday - Mountain Mikes... 1/2 off pizza night
Wednesday - Spaghetti
Thursday - French Dip Sammies
Friday - Chinese Take Out...
Saturday - Take Out Fake Out... we are going to FAKE a Take out dinner... Mystery night!
Sunday - Picnic for the concert in the park.
On my to do list:
Pack my son for his trip to Washington next week, prepare items for District Meeting, glean out the garden.
Happening this week:
Monday - Hubby has a golf tournament today, I have to make party leftovers.
Tuesday -  Gabriella gets braces. Heading to Lorraine's to watch Caleb play ball!
Wednesday - Kylie here, I think we may drive to Manteca.
Thursday -  Ridding Lessons! Stamping my day away!
Friday -  Payday, car tune up and a little school shopping.
Saturday- Family Fun Night
Sunday -  Concert in the Park

What I am creating:
A banner, samples from the new catty, leftovers from my three shows this past week and a special gift for Linda.

My simple pleasure:
The pickle and ham dip... let's just say ot tastes awesome on a rice cracker and yes that sounds weird but is so yummy!

Homemaking tips:
A little bit of Stampin' Up! in every room brightens my world!  It is my goal to show you how to share your love throughout your house this week!
Looking around the house:
It is quiet... hubby is gone, dogs are now quiet, the kids are all in bed... and I want chaos!
From the camera:

My hubby helped the boys make pizza this past Saturday for the sleepover, while I set up my room for my Open House, I have to say, they did good!  I have the best Hubby EVER!
 Prayer List:
Praying for my friend Linda, she lost her beautiful mother, praying for the people in the Middle East, how sad I am for all the families.  Prayers to my friends, family, and their friends and families battling that nasty Cancer.  Prayers for peace, and rain!

Bible verse, Devotional:
Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears  we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

1 John 3:2

Convention Swaps CASE'd for a good cause

When I came home from Convention I was excited to make these 3D swaps... I chased down the creator of the seed packets and took a photo of her badge... She felt obligated to give me one! On the way home we met Monica from Hayward, CA she made the Ghiradelli chocolate 3D's and the kids loved those too!

I love the DSP, but the Daffodil Delight ribbon had me at HELLO!

I CASE'd these deigns when I returned home for a kids class... I substituted Hot Chocolate for the seeds... and ok... I left the Ghirardelli Chocolates in the cute little favors... I adore chocolate!

Then on this past Monday, I opened my email to a garage sale fundraiser flyer for my friend Bonnie's daughter in law Kim . Cancer is a very bad boy and he is about to get attacked with the love and support from the family, friends, and the community of Dublin, California!

Got a small table here:
The yard sale takes up three driveways, garages, and side yards!

And more stuff:

And more:

And more:

And more... seriously, more stuff arrived after I took this photo and them by 8am most of it was GONE!

I just love how the community comes together... For a good cause!
All ourove, prayers and support for Kim Sharp and her family!!

Happy Homemaker Monday July 21, 2014

As I look outside my window:
The fog is still lingering, and I see an early pumpkin growing ever so large along the fence!  I dislike the smell and taste of pumpkin but I love them in all other ways!

    Right now I am:
Sharing this post with you later than normal... catching up on sleep after an amazing trip to Utah, and a fun filled Sunday with my family!

    Thinking and pondering:
Life can be so short, we need to live it to the fullest, let go of the bitter drama, and do what we can to let our little loves know that they can make a difference.  I am blessed with three amazing treasures and I cannot thank my hubby enough for sharing them with me! I love being a mom!

    Happy Birthday Emma!

Happy 4th Birthday to my niece Emma!

This is the doll I gave her for her last birthday!

    Have you heard of:
They are whimsical rag dolls with cute button eyes!
    She is getting another today!
(I have a few treats in my suitcase to bring her next month too!)
    I made her this card:
Is my lil Emma Lalaloopsy not the cutest thing ever?
She was  CASE that I have been waiting to share with her since last year.
I found  the original card on Pinterst and was ubber excited to find she made a how to video!
You can see that I altered it a bit trying to be current ,
using the Starburst Framelit for the dress, the Moonlight DSP Stack, the Flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the soda from Cycle Celebration.
I hope she likes the doll as much as I do!
Emma has the cutest natural curly hair,
    big loving eyes
and a sweet voice that draws you to her.
I can't wait to see her again in August!
It sucks to be a long distance Auntie..
But her terrific parents keep me in the loop,
    as well as my Dad.
He has her call as often as he has her.

Hope you all take the time to stamp today! I'm back from Convention and ready to play!
