Wildtree Wednesday

It is Wildtree Wednesday time!
Yesterday, my friend Allison texted me from Reno.
She was hanging out with her best friend Frances.
Guess what?
Frances uses Wildtree!
So both ladies were asking about the Java Rub:
I have used this product in my freezer meals, on steaks and ribs.
Here is a recipe for you to try:
Java Turkey Chili
1 teaspoon Wildtree Natural Grapeseed Oil
1 red onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 pound extra lean ground turkey
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomato
1 (15.5 ounce) can black eyed peas
3 tablespoons Wildtree Java Rub
Heat the Grapeseed Oil in a large stock pot over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until translucent. Add the garlic and turkey and cook until the turkey is browned and partially cooked through. Add the crushed tomato, black eyed peas, and Java Rub; stir to combine. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Enjoy!  My family loves this meal and I hope yours does too!

Happy Homemaker Monday 12/29/14

As I look outside my window:
Sky is blue, but it is so cold out I was expecting more clouds! Had our heater on for the first time last night.   I am going to look silly all bundled up to walk my dogs but I am going to admit, the mild winter really does spoil me!

Right now I am:
Deciding which recipe to try... I want to make homemade pretzels. Any suggestions?

Thinking and pondering:
Bring on 2015! I have goals to save money, and be more efficient. Starting this week I am going to make some tough decisions!  If I am not using it, it may have to go.  Same goes for may kids items... they are holding on to so much stuff, I need to guide them in letting go.
On my bedside table:
My bible, Photos of the hubby and kids, and a lucky bamboo plant.

On my TV this week:
Apple TV, my kids gave that to my husband for Christmas. Trying it out.
Listening to:
Silence, the whole house is asleep... wait what is that thunder? Ah, just the cat... he really wants me to pause and give him a scoop of wet food.  Cannot deny that guy, he gets vicious.

On the menu for this week:
Monday - Meatloaf, Cornflake Casserole and Green Beans
Tuesday - Ham & Potato Soup...still have ham leftovers.
Wednesday - Wildtree Freezer Meal
Thursday - Prime Rib, Smashed Potatoes and a salad.
Friday - Leftovers... YUMM!
Saturday - Sesame Chicken Salad
Sunday - Buffet of treats for my Open House!

Wildtree Recipe of the Week

Asian Angel Hair Slaw

2 bags angel hair or regular slaw
3/4 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 package ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
1 tablespoon Wildtree Natural or Butter infused Grapeseed oil
1 cup Wildtree Asian Ginger Plum Dressing & Marinade

Method of Preparation

In a large bowl combine Wildtree Asian Ginger Plum Dressing & Marinade with the angle hair slaw and refriderate. When ready to serve heat Wildtree Grape Seed oil in a medium sized saute pan, break apart the noodles and saute them with almonds and sunflower seeds. Combine noodles with slaw. Serve as quickly as possible so the noodles and nuts stay crunchy.

On my to do list:
Finishing up samples for my Open House on Sunday, high and low dusting, maybe the floors. I may wait to clean the carpets until after the guests leave Sunday. A good steam cleaning is in the future.  Wish we had removed all the carpets... wait it is pretty cold today, grateful we have some left!

Happening this week:
Monday - MDD Meeting to get organized and some card samples.
Tuesday - Stamping my day away.. a few projects due
Wednesday - New Years Eve, may take my family to the movie.
Thursday - Happy Birthday Hubby!
Friday - Board Meeting, and last minute stamping.
Saturday - SU playdates.. heading to Turlock to make shoebox swaps and samples with Lorraine and Sarah. Hoping to gather some really cool samples to CASE and share with my customers tomorrow.
Sunday - My 2015 Open House cannot wait to set up the Buffet!

What I am creating:
Samples and Swaps from the NEW catalog and gifts for the Open House.

My simple pleasure:
My husbands sweatpants... comfy and ready for me anytime, not exactly what I should wear out but I can pull them off within a few feet of the house!
Looking around the house:
I like winter, the kids linger in bed... more time to me!
From the camera:

My Christmas Eve Treat, all 3 kids plus Megan watching Elf and sitting on the same couch!

Prayer List:
As 2014 comes to a close, I pray that I lead my family with a honest Christian heart, may I learn to be as kind and graceful as the Lord.  I pray that we find a healthy 2015 because Cancer is a jerk, and I want it to stay away.  I pray for all those that did not have the privilege of a heater last night or a roof over their heads. I ask that we are more conscious about other people and their feelings, that we discover that we all are fighting battles  and  some struggle more than us.  Lift up those that are in a position to protect and serve us, may the be able to do their job safely and without judgment. lastly, I pray for peace!

Bible verse, Devotional:
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
John 15:16

Sunday Relection... The Day After Renee Day!

Sometng I love to brag about:
My Grandest Pal Renee!
We have shared some good times
And we have made miraculous things happen together!
One thing that I love being around her is she listens...
I am a talker and she really listens to me.
She filters my dreams and desires
And then focuses me on my goal.
She is not afraid to tell me to cut my desire in half, one must take many things into account.
When I hear her advice it always makes more sense than my original plan.
She is beautiful inside and out and a real motivator!

Here is a photo of Renee and her granddaughter Harlee.
Every year since I have met her she has gathered my thoughts, dreams and goals,
We place them on paper and triage what is reality, can be reality and will be reality.
She never tells me I cannot do something,
She helps me prioritize the end goal and then I can make things happen.

Yesterday, we got together to finally see the movie Wild
After we read that book it really resignatted with me that we women can achieve many things.
Sadly, I feel the movie focused on sex, and drugs and not on the wonderous journey.
When I tell people I stamp as a hobby some understand.
When I tell people that I hike they look perplexed.
Both bring me a sense of freedom, creativity, inspiration and achievement.
As a woman I can proudly say that stamping and hiking are in fact a way I define myself!

Renee and I started stamping together and every May when she came to walk for my Relay for Life team, she was coming home after a hike in Yosemitte.  She spoke of the beauty and challenge in picking the trails and I wanted to join her just once... And she took my family and I right away, let me brag that she struck the heart of our family.. And we go every year at least once together. We plan hikes that share different views and degrees of difficulty.

We talk about life, love, family and yes we talk about stamping!

Here is the Christmas card she made for my family:
Check out that beautiful Candy Cane Bakers Twine she found last spring... Love the way the colors mix. She combined it with Whisper White Cardstock, Pistchio Pudding Cardstock, Retired Holiday DSP, the Trim The Tree DSP stack, 3/4" Circle Punch, Pistachio Pudding Stamp Pad, Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon and used the Cheerful Christmas Stamp Set.

Then I love this thank you card:

She used the Thank You so much from the recent My Paper Pumpkin, the Star Framelits, Crumb Cake Cardstock base, her Real Red Stamp, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and a few sheets from a Retired DSP stack. Notice the edging of the star? Renee has done this a few times and it lifts and adds dimension to her amazing cards. I call it her signature.

I decided to CASE her Thank You card:

For the life of me I could not find my recent My Paper Pumpkin stamps.. Where did I place them??
So I used a NEW SAB stamp set Best Day Ever, Trim the Tree DSP stack, Star Framelits, Garden Green Stsmpin' Pad, and Stampin' Write Markerr, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Early Esspresso Cardstock Base, and Regal Candy Dots.

She is working with me to make my resolutions and goals for 2015 reachable, and with her guidance and cheering on I know I will achieve all my dreams and desires!

Happy Sunday!

Merry Christmas!!

I have to say Happy Birthday to our sweet baby Jesus!
He is a gift that never grows old and warms our hearts...
And he is the cutest baby ever!

I had a few blessings this week ...
My children were home and so far so good no fights,
we had a guest for Christmas Eve that would have spent her night alone...
Thank you Megan for choosing my family.
There was a special delivery made
I finally got into the mood and I made my pumpkin spice latte mix for the neighbors,
chicken tortilla soup for lunch, and meatballs and spaghetti for dinner.
We snacked on my crockpot chex mix and
then devoured some brownies topped with peppermint ice cream!
Watched and sang along with Elf!
Mr. Brown ... AKA.. The UPS man
dropped off a package
filled with items I need to make My January 4th Open House a huge surprise!

Santa filled our stockings with goodies and some sweet tangerines!

My friends Kathy Jo  Jeanne sent me these pictures of their My Paper Pumpkin creations:
See how they used a background paper
and we discused the many ways we can make these.
Here is another sample;
Cool news came out yesterday there are refill kits available so you can make more!! Remember you must be a My Paper Pumpkin customer
to take advantage of this opportunity.
Spent the evening putting some past kits together while playing Apples to Apples!
Great times with my wonderful kids ..
Cannot wait for daddy to come home so we can enjoy Chrirtmas Day!

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve

Almost done addressing cards & gifts for my husbands shift.
What a blessing My Paper Pumpkin refill kits were this year.
Quick and easy cards assisted my three kids and I.
We wrapped small glass Christmas trees in SU Muslin bags.
Had fun watching my kids stamp the bags
and stuff them with wishes of love!
Seriously need to finish this project
because at the very bottom of that pile
is the Sneak Peek at the Hello Life Class Kit!
Details to come later.
My Paper Pumpkin cards...
Fun and festive to send handwritten messages
to the men and women that stand beside my husband
as they protect and serve an often thankless community.
Lucky for me my husband carries the positive attitude
from all he has helped to guide him
and not all the negativity that is driven via the media.
I do believe that any profession is dangerous
but I know that when my husband steps outside he is aware of the danger, hatred and parts of society that I do not see through my rose colored glasses.
I lift them all up in prayer, & may they be guided by a strong Christian heart.
A Christmas song that is most likely from the 18th century.
It depicts the beautiful setting
of Baby Jesus
and his birthday.
A song that lifts my heart and soul!
As we near the celebration
of Christmas...
I wish you all
Merry Christmas!

Happy Homemaker Monday 12/22

As I look outside my window:
Most of the day has slipped away.  It is the first Monday of the Christmas break and my family all sleeps soundly.  Only Mackenzie is up with me she will leave me soon to work.  I hope this week passes quickly... I feel so behind in the holiday spirit.

Right now I am:
Addressing Christmas cards, and wrapping  last minute neighbor gifts. I think I will begin baking today too.  I missed my annual cookie exchange and I have to get snacky! Snacky is my word for adding a few comfort calories. 'Tis the season.

Thinking and pondering:
Where has this year gone?  It seems like last year is so far away and the new year is on the verge of taking over.  My beautiful children have grown, matured, tested me and blessed me with so much love and inspiration.  I have to thank God, for I am the luckiest mother in the world.
On my bedside table:
My bible, Photos of the hubby and kids, and a lucky bamboo plant, and laundry that needs to be put away.

On my TV this week:
The Borgia's... found the series on Netflix and I swear I am only hooked until it ends.
Listening to:
The pool pump humming.  Waiting on the pool guy so I can let my dogs out to rule the backyard and scare away the squirrels.

On the menu for this week:
Monday - Butternut Squash Soup
Tuesday - Pesto Chicken Pasta
Wednesday - Chinese
Thursday - Christmas Dinner... Ham, potatoes and much more.
Friday - Scalloped Potatoes
Saturday - Beans (from the Ham leftovers)and Roast Chicken
Sunday - Spaghetti

Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the oven, toss with the couscous, and garnish with almonds, if desired

From the camera:
My sons gift from Grandpa Carver... He is most excited about this. My father bought him a rod this past summer and now this fancy reel! Bring on the fish!

Prayer List:
Lifting all families that have lost loved ones this year up in prayer.  Lifting up prayers for those that serve our country in various thankless forms.  Walking and praying for the thin blue line. Leaving my porch light on to honor fallen officers and to proclaim we are Christians and we only tolerate the fair treatment of all.  Prayers for all displaced and not in a warm home. Prayers for family and friends that are sick. Prayers for those that have relationship issues that get worse during the holidays.  Prayers for those that have less than my family.  Prayers my family becomes observant of the privileges we have. Prayers that healing hearts will lift the chaos around the world and we start considering other peoples feelings and obeying the Lord. Lifting up my family and friends that the holidays will bring them less stress and more love!

Bible verse, Devotional:
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
